I guess any fools out there will easily notice the code pattern. It’s so easy to crack and generate new codes, to be exact it took me a few mins + 18 lines of code I can now generate as many codes as I wish.

To take part just SMS to 8180 1144:

Win7Up<space>CODE<space>NRIC<space>NAME

The terms state that you’ll need the scratch card and the SMS to redeem the prize; Top prize is 7 x RWS annual passes including admission to Universal Studio Singapore.

4 scenario comes to my mind:

  1. Try my luck present the SMS I received and claim that I’ve lost my card
  2. Screw up other people’s chance of winning
  3. Carefully remove the code sticker and replace it with a new sticker with the winning code
  4. Get someone to duplicate the card with the winning code

It’s not difficult considering the value of the top prize.

If someone so normal like me can figure this out so fast, I think a lot more will be able to come to the same conclusion. It’s always good to check and recheck ways to exploit your own promotions and contest mechanism before you release it to the public. Think Justin Bieber’s world tour poll.
